By Creating PlayStation PC Sony strengthens its relationship with PC gaming
Sony seems to have made a new “PlayStation PC” name for its ports, exchanging over from the old PlayStation Mobile name.
It doesn’t actually change a lot of this moment, just being a distributer name change on Steam (much appreciated, VGC). It seems as though Sony hasn’t gotten round to doing the switch on each game yet—I really look at God of War it’s actually showing PlayStation Mobile as the distributer—yet ideally it’s a sign of a more grounded devotion to PC as a stage.
We’ve been seeing a consistent increment of PlayStation selective games advancing over to any semblance of Steam and Epic. Sony communicated a longing to deliver more games on PC back in 2020 after the ports of Death Stranding and Horizon Zero Dawn. We additionally had Days Gone show up this year, and later on we’ll see Uncharted 4, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, and incredibly, God of War. Sony gathered up Nixxes Software a couple of months back as well, a studio that is helped port a small bunch of Crystal Dynamics games to PC.
Sony Interactive Entertainment president Jim Ryan told GQ recently that “an entire record” of PlayStation games are because of advance here in the long run, however he kept pretty close-lipped regarding which ones would be given the port treatment. I for one figure The Last of Us would be an incredible decision, however 50% of the group here are for all intents and purposes frothing at the mouth for Bloodborne on PC now.
