Looking for Elden Ring Player Gets Destroyed By Their Own Spells? A Twitch streamer recently made Elden Ring history after successfully defeating every boss in the game without getting hit a single time over the course of the entire run. After months of planning and effort, the Elden Ring streamer claimed victory at the end of a nearly 9-hour long stream.
Elden Ring Player Gets Demolished By Their Own Spells
An Elden Ring player made their fight against the Mimic Tear a little too exciting when experimenting with the boss, being killed by their own spells during a simultaneous flurry of raining arrows and deadly draconic fire. The Mimic Tear boss fight in Elden Ring has been a plentiful source of entertainment since release, with some players discovering that given the appropriate tools, this copycat can be a formidable, and arguably unfair, foe.
The weirdest aspect of the Eternal City of Nokron is not that a meteorite must obliterate southern Limgrave to reveal it, or even that the entire city had been beneath the player’s feet this whole time. Rather, it is the first boss of the area which is both baffling and intriguing, drawing Tarnished into a battle against themselves. The Mimic Tear duplicates everything that the player has equipped, including but not limited to armor, weapons, and spells.
There are ways to manipulate this intention however, provided by the time that exists from when the Mimic Tear spawns, until the fight commences. Within this approximately 10-second period, players are able to alter their equipment while in little danger The Hallowed Title in WoW, causing some to pass the golden fog wall bare-fisted, subsequently equip a weapon, and proceed to bash a helpless replica of themselves.
Mimic Tear embodied Sir Gideon Ofnir better than Gideon
Throwing down a Gravity Stone Fan, the Mimic Tear does not rest in its pursuit of the player, casting Founding Rain of Stars as the aptly evaded skulls explode beside the player. As if this was not enough already, the Mimic effectively traps the player by using Placidusax’s Ruin, the golden rays taking their attention away from the falling stars which chip away at the last vestiges of life. Comments joked that the Mimic Tear embodied Sir Gideon Ofnir better than Gideon himself Marks Left Behind, one of Elden Ring’s late game bosses, who makes use of incantations and sorceries that the player has told him about throughout their playthrough.
The player confirmed in the replies that they had equipped all of those spells exclusively for the fun of it, which also explained why the Mimic Tear has such vastly different armor compared with the player. The Bull-Goat set boasts incredibly high defense and poise, making the player’s attacks substantially weaker than they otherwise would be. Another way to make the typically trivial Mimic Tear fight harder is to provide it with a shield, as an Elden Ring player demonstrated recently during a humiliating contest.
Soldier of Godrick
Twitch streamer GinoMachino vowed back in March that he would complete Elden Ring while taking no hits, and after 7 months, he has followed through on his promise. His no-hit run ended after a 9-hour stream with the final boss of the run being the Soldier of Godrick, interestingly the first optional boss that players encounter very early in the game. It’s important to note that this was a “true” no-hit run Elden Ring Player Gets Destroyed, meaning that GinoMachino must restart his run from the very beginning if he takes damage at any point. Many players opt for a more forgiving variant of the no-hit run where they instead retry bosses until defeating them without taking damage.
Starscourge Radahn
In the first video in this story, Elden Ring player Solid Hitoshi bolstered their explosion with Royal Knight’s Resolve (a skill that increases your damage output) and then utilized Bloodhound Step (a fast-moving, nearly invisible dodge maneuver) to quickly position their Tarnished between the three marks Elden Ring Player Gets Destroyed, scoring a hat trick in the blink of an eye. JellyDiscrete, on the other hand, demonstrated how the gravity powers of the Starscourge Greatswords (massive weapons made from Starscourge Radahn’s soul) can be used to pull unsuspecting opponents into range before going kablooey.
In a recent patch, FromSoftware fixed a similar bug where players can activate the Erdtree Greatshield’s weapon skill without absorbing an attack. Players are hoping it will do the same with Carian Retaliation.
Reynolds
Reynolds manages to ban players by using a debug item called pavel, which was left in the game’s code from dev testing but isn’t actually in the game. He then uses the spells to put the item in other player’s inventories, which the game will then recognise as an invalid item once the player has died, triggering the anti-cheat and often soft-banning the player altogether through no fault of their own.
When asked about why he’s hacking the game like this, Reynolds said, “I’m necessary evil (sic). You might be asking if getting caught is part of the plan, and yes it is. If I pull it off will the game die Elden Ring Player Gets Destroyed? I don’t think so, but maybe Bandai will fix it. Time to go mobile.”
Carian Retaliation
Carian Retaliation is an Ash of War skill that gets applied to small or medium shields. This skill allows players to parry enemy spells, and when this triggers, they gain a trio of floating daggers. These will target the opponent after a few seconds, dealing damage to them.
While it sounds decent in theory, players have discovered they can strangely parry their own spells. This can be done by normally casting a spell, or using consumables (Glintstone Scraps, for example). Suddenly, the player doesn’t have to wait for an opponent to cast a spell at them. They have an attack that can be easily spammed Elden Ring Player Gets Destroyed, and it scales with the shield’s upgrade level as well.
Glintstone Scraps
For one thing, players don’t have to parry an enemy’s attacks to spawn the daggers. They can simply parry their own spells, including things like Glintstone Scraps, to bring the knives out. More importantly, it seems that the blades will sometimes turn invisible when used in PvP. This makes the spell one of the best in the game for competitive multiplayer fights, since opponents can’t easily dodge what they can’t actually see.
Thankfully, Elden Ring developers at FromSoftware seem to be keeping a close eye on the game. The studio has already proven its willingness to nerf strategies that are either overpowered or outright bugged. So hopefully a patch for these invisible killers will arrive sooner rather than later.
